The area of high pressure pipeline near Pikalevo, Leningrad Region is characterized by high moisture saturation.
Features of natural terrain and seasonal raising of the groundwater level can lead to erosion of the substrate of the pipeline and create dangerous zones of tension.

To study the distribution of moisture along the pipeline route and detect anomalous zones the GPR method was chosen as the fastest. We used GROT 12H with antennas 1 m, 2 m and 4 m, and a GPS receiver for geo-location information used to obtain coordinates of GPR measurement points.

As a result of studies, it was determined that the pipes lie along the route at different depths, substrate capacity differs in different sections of the track. In addition, the groundwater level was defined in different parts of the track and unevenly distributed along the route anomalous zones of flooding was found.
